I found a 621 Aluminum bellhousing...

Should I powder coat it or polish it?

Eventually I will be attaching it to an M22 Rockcrusher but wanted to know what some of your bellhousings look like...

Only drawback to polishing it is that most of it is covered and you really wont get to show it off like a polished bellhousing deserves. Now same goes for powdercoating and it costs more to have it done. I would polish it and clear it so you dont have to stick your hand down there and repolish it all the time.

Until if and when it chips. Then it really sucks.

I vote to clear it

I polished mine, looking back maybe better to PC this one. Hose off and go, bellhousing will be a pain to get to as far as touching up.

I leave mine 'natural' so leaks are easy to spot. It's aluminum, so it doesn't need any special treatment. Not many will see it anyway.

If you want to get fancy, rattle can it.

If you want to get REALLY fancy, powdercoat it.

I'd never polish a bellhousing unless it was for some trailer queen show-only car...
...which I would never build...

LOL!!
