: Can someone help with my grill issue on my 69
kblock108 Dec 1st, 09, 7:11 PM I recently installed the main grill piece on my 69 and noticed several holes in the header panel and according to the GM assembly manual, those holes are for an upper trim piece (Part# 3920849). I searched OPG and I can not find this trim piece. I also noticed the corner grill pieces have a gap in the top portion between them and the header panel, which I am assuming is covered up by the trim piece. Can someone direct me how I should proceed. Here are some pics of what I am refering to:

If you have a parts catalog laying around, you might look in the section where the grills are.
There are three long pieces of trim upper, middle and bottom. The area that you are pointing to is where the eyebrow trim goes. There is also a short piece between the headlights on each side and a lower piece of trim on the extensions. Good Luck!
kblock108 Dec 1st, 09, 7:49 PM Long story short I have the lower chrome pieces and the center one too, but evedently the center chrome piece wont work on this grill (its a 300), which the guy before us bought. I figured id put it on, till I have the $ for the other one. I am working on a parts catalog (if someone knows where I can get one, that would be huge), but until then anyone have a website in mind where I can buy these pieces. I bought everything OPG said I needed :(
ss300deluxe Dec 1st, 09, 9:08 PM I would check national parts depot. Here's a link to the chevelle catalog: http://npd.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?BookCode=cvl09flx# (http://npd.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?BookCode=cvl09flx). On page 125 is a grille moldings section for a 1969 chevelle and it looks like it has some of the pieces you are describing. It shows a little diagram with parts numbers and some of the numbers correspond to parts under the 1968 section. I'm still learning so i'm not sure if they are the pieces you're looking for.

ehjorten Dec 3rd, 09, 3:12 PM Just out of curiosity...this isn't Ken Block the Professional Rally Racer is it? I see you are in So. California, so it is a good fit.
RAMBO Dec 3rd, 09, 6:10 PM if you don't want to buy a whole new grill- In the old days before the correct SS grill was reproduced, and only the 300 grill was availabl-e we would take the thin lower chrome peice, trim it to fit in the middle, drill mounting holes and use it for the middle trim. That way it wouldn't stick out the incorrect extra 1/2" the way the factory middle trim would on a 300 grill.
Just a thought.
