What is the best way to get the oily film off the inside of the glass?
I have used Windex, still fogs up, used grease cutting 409, a little better, but it is still there and fogging up.
What does a good job?
Thanks,
Mike

I have used some Dawn dish detergent in a bucket and wipe it on and then a clean rag.
Just a thought the last time I had a oily film on the inside of my windshield I had a heater core leak and it was blowing up through the defroster vents.

is it a smoke film? I wonder if the fireplace glass cleaner would cut through it, That stuff works great on my fireplace glass

No, no smoke.
Car has been non-smoking all its life.
Dawn is a good idea, and I just got a new bottle of original scent.
Should have gotten "Morning Mist" or some other fruity fragrance ! !
That fireplace glass cleaner sounds like a good idea too.
Seems as though the car has needed a detailing for some time, just wasn't done.
It was our spare car, and it just got moved up to full time duty.
Thanks for the input.

I was told by an interior guy, Brasso polish to clean the windshield then follow up with an Aerosol glass cleaner. He said the aerosol has something in it that cuts through the smoke and other stuff better. I did do a comparison and the aerosol does cut clean better in less time then squirt bottle stuff. That was windex in both forms at the time with Viva paper towels.

Use a good glass cleaner and news paper instead of a towel, rag, or paper towel.
It worked for a few hundred room and barracks inspections

I bought one of those chessy looking spatulas that has a green colth streched over it. It is made just for cleaning your inside windshield and I must say that it works great!! there about twenty bucks and well worth it.

Bon-Ami like Paul Harvey use to say "Hasen't scratched yet". I've used plenty and it's great stuff.
