: Sagging mirror

Has anyone found a way to keep the side view mirror from slowly dropping? If I don't constantly adjust it, vibration eventually causes me to get a good view of my quarter panel.
Thanks,
Rich

Okay you asked for it.....the side view on my 70 was not in great shape, but mirror was good. Except it moved too easily. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif When no one was looking, I took a sharp punch, a big screw driver handle, and made a few dings where the mirror swivel on the pivot ball. Only made enuff so that when I adjusted the mirror, the dings gives enuff friction to hold it in place...I have a new mirror whenever I decide to put it on, but this seemd to have worked well enuff.

I bought one new in the GM box for my 69 at a swap meet at one of the N.C.O.A. "Chevelle Showdown" shows and it would fall down every few blocks of driving the car.
I finally put my old one back on and gave it away.
I should have tried DG's trick I guess

I wonder if the manufacturers ever check out this web site to see what problems their parts have. It might be worth their time.

DG, that sounds like a good idea. Judging by the responses to this, it seems to be a common problem. And I always thought everything tended to get stiffer with age. Well, almost everything.
Thanks,
Rich

Try a small drop of Locktite. Holds nicely and still allows for "some" adjustment.

Wow, why didn't I think of lock-tite, the super glue held it well but no more adjustments could be performed.
