does anyone know if the chevelle SS in 70 had oval lower a frame bushing in the rear or round. thx steel

My '70 Malibu had an oval.

All of the 70-72 lower arms I have seen have the ovals, the round was a 69-earlier thing.

this has been discused in depths in the past. the oval came out later to give more cushioning in the direction of impact to help keep the rear bushing frame mount from fatiquing. the rounds give you a stiffer suspension. it is quite common to see both kinds on the same car from the factory. they just started putting whatever was ther on. if you are going to poly bushings i recomend using the oval. if you have the round arms keep the rear bushing rubber.
