 Has anyone had this condition. The calipers were rebuilt some time ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could cause this problem, and how to fix it? Thanks, Brian smile.gif

Need more info, year & stock disc brakes? Any changes other then rebuilt calipers? Is anything else new?
Was the system working before? How long did it sit?

Just a few things to check initially:

It could be the brake hoses between the calipers and the frame. Old hoses will sometimes swell shut and trap fluid in the caliper.

Misadjusted master cylinder pushrod. If it's too long, it will not release the brakes.

Improper brake rod location on the pedal. If this was a disc brake conversion, the push rod to brake pedal attachment point has to be relocated.

Check the adjustment of the brake light switch, it may be applying the brakes for you. Pull up on the brake pedal, if you hear some clicking noise you may have solved your problem.

Hey guys,

Heres a little more info on my brakes.
Everything in regards to the brake system is either new or rebuilt. All the lines are new, the original cal. have been rebuilt. Its a fresh system. I'm using Dot 5 silicone base brake fluid.
Its been bled, and theres a good pedal. I'm going to open up one of the bleeders on a caliper to see if it releases. I haven't got the car running yet, so I don't know if that would make a difference or not. Any more ideas would be most helpful. Thanks, Brian
