the body tag was affixed by Fisher, they had no idea what engine was to be installed, the VIN by the assembly line. My old 64 was similar. They are not supposed to match.

I think I can clarify this statement a bit....Leo probably should have said "They are not necessarily supposed to match." In other words, they may match or they may not.

They don't have to match on a Malibu or 300 Deluxe. But they DO have to match on a Super Sport (they should both be 138).
