: Mounting Porportioning Valve...

I'm doing a disc brake swap on my 66 Chevelle. Everything is fine, except the porportioning valve. I ran all the new brake lines, and they all end up in the right area, but where that is, there is absolutley no room. There might be enough room for the valve, but there is no room for my hands. I think there would be enough room, IF I had a automatic. I have headers also. So between the frame, header, and z-bar, there is no room. So I am pretty much stuck here. What Im asking is what people did in my situation...or for any advice. Thanks. -Tim

i dont like the valve that close to the heat from the headers so when i replaced my lines i bought the lines that relocate the valve up under the master cylinder. "The Right Stuff" has it all. if its too late for that, i think you are going to have to losen the bolts to your header so it cam move slightly out of the way.

I agree with 454, I moved mine up to under the MC and cleaned everything up. I did not buy new lines, but rather replaced the drivers side frnt line with a longer one, then just extended the other two lines to the new location.

One of these days, I'll swap everything out with new stainless lines that go to the new location directly.
