Baer is closed over the weekend and I was wondering if anyone knew if the PBR single piston caliper used in their "rod and drag" or "rod and track" whatever it is A-body rear disc conversion kit is just an off the shelf PBR caliper?
I suspect from a C4 vettes?
They are located in AZ and I was planning to race this wed, but I don't want to pay to overnight a caliper from AZ to arrive here on tuesday to race wed..
I figured if a local GM dealer had the caliper in stock, I could do it that way...

You will need to check with Baer directly if you currently have one of their kits. They use off the shelf PBR calipers but which model caliper depends on which you bought and what application it fits.

Thanks. I kind of figured that. Hopefully I can dig one up locally on monday and still hit the track this wed or friday. I'd like to get a run in before I move because I won't be able to after..

Matt,
Here is the info you want. It is from a web page, which I cannot find again. That's what I did on my '68 Chevelle. Everything is a GM part, except the parking brake cables, which I am not sure. I bought my cables from Baer.
"This rear brake swap is essentially very simple. It uses the PBR calipers, brackets, and rotors from a 1993-97 Z28 Camaro. No fabrication necessary.
Calipers:
C4 rear caliper is taken from a 1993-97 Z28 Camaro. These calipers are hard to find rebuilt in complete form. Most rebuilders only supply the caliper housing leaving it up to the user to reuse the old basket and bracketry componets. However, I found that A1 Cardone equips their loaded rebuilds with ALL of the baskets, necessary brackets, and even pads allowing for a simple bolt in.

I bought mine from rockauto.com. they run about $136 each.
Brackets:
The 93-97 GM brackets that I used for the swap. They are about $25 each from GMpartsdirect.com

LH 18019857
Rotors:
Rear Rotors from a 1993-1997 Z28 Camaro will work. I picked mine up at the local Napa for about $25 each. The rotors are interchangable from side to side. Even though this considered a 12" rear brake set up the rotors really measure 11.6"x.81".
Parking Brake Cables:
I ordered my p-brake cables from Control Cables in Santa Fe Springs, CA."
Take care,
Theo.

Thanks for the info. I already have the baer setup. I am going to give them a call 1st thing tomorrow to see about the caliper. I have a rotor and pad set on the way from them UPS ground last week, If I had known the caliper was destroyed, I would have ordered that too, or found the PN to get it from a local GM dealer. This whole experience has just got me going crazy..

Matt,
I've seen Baer rear brake caliper pictures and they are the 1993-97 Z28 Camaro calipers. The only difference is that Baer use their own brackets so that they can mount the calipers on up to 13" rotors.
