I want to replace the manual drum brakes on my 70 Chevelle. Does anyone know of a kit that will allow me to do this or what other car will the power brake booster and disk brake front spindles work from.

Search for "chevelle disc brake kit" on Google, and you'll find a ton of kits. I have been looking for a while, but I'm still trying to decide. Seems like MP Brakes (http://www.mpbrakes.com/) has one of the most complete and affordable stock type kits, and then there's another ton of high-performance brakes from Wilwood, Baer etc.

If you want to put it together from used parts, you can find a ton of info here (http://www.chevelles.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=33;DaysPrune=5) . I believe that brakes from any GM A-body 1969-72 will fit.

PS: One of the reasons why I haven't done anything yet is that I have 14" wheels on my car, and to use disc brakes, you have to go with 15". So if you have 14" wheels you also have to make room in the budget for new wheels and tires. I wish I had known that before I bought new tires

If you want to use the stock style spindles and A arms then the MP brakes setup is great. I have it to put on my Elco. A word of advice, look over all the tech articles on the front end changes and tubular A arms first. I spent a bunch of money on my MP Brake setup and now kind of wish I had waited so I could do the tall spindle upgrade.
