Has anyone seen or done this swap? I ran across this from a guy selling the rotors and calipers on Ebay. Seems straight forward enough (GRAVY TRAIN!)to do as far as the setup.Uses the STOCK DRUM spindles and rotors! graemlins/hurray.gif Only questions I have are whether or not the original hard lines (sizes) from my chevelle/elky will be ok since I'm going to four wheel disks from 4 wheel drums.I plan on using the rear disks from a 79-82 camaro/firebird to give me the rear wheel disks. Would hate to replace the prebent factory lines with pieced together crap from autozone (especially the front to rear). Also, what is the best master cylinder/booster/combination valve combo for the 4 wheel disks? Hate to spend over $400 at Master Power for their stuff (they won't even answer my emails) when this is such a low buck swap. Same as the corvette parts/swap I guess just not as expensive since they don't say corvette and are only 1" smaller. Will include links below for all. Homemade bracket (or a pair bought from them) and a little machine is all it looks like. Seems like it should be illegal! Take some time and read through the links, post your feed back. I am in process of pulling my spindles and rotors. Bought a new disk rotor for a 98 camaro to check on machine costs for spindle and drum rotor. Looks marginal.

this link will show cool photos of guys swap in progress. reference is to 1st gen camaro, but should be same as chevelle, just rear steer instead of front steer! click on camaro pic on right, follow link on left to front swap.

Almost forgot! Here is template for the bracket. They supplied the infofrom their swap. When printed out, line in middle was supposed to be 6" long. It was. Will be making my brackets this weekend and will compare the, to the drum spidle and some F-body caliper brackets when I get them.
(f-Body being camaro/firebird 98-02, I guess they were different in 97 and lower cars!)

I read some of the artical on how to do this swap and it says that it's for a "First Gen". Is this a Camaro or Chevelle or does it matter?

I saw the auction and though I don't remember the price off the top of my head I remember you could do it for cheaper than he had listed.

I've been checking locally and you can do it way cheaper (less than 150 if your lucky). The hardest thing so far is finding the caliper brackets. A couple of the local rebuilders will only sell them with the spindles. Too new of stuff to get in abundance, but I have found several just by searching around very reasonable. Other than that it seems easy. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
