I have a '67 Chevelle SS 396 and I'm doing a frame off restore. I've never done the frame off before and need some advice. Is it better to install the engine/trans to the frame first then drop the body on or should the body be secured to the frame first then the engine/trans?
Any other advice as to what and how to get this back together is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You find it easier to install the engine trans without the body in the way. However, assuming the front clip will still be off after the body is back on the frame it'll be damn near as easy to do it then as well.

There is no better way IMO. It's totally your choice.

Not too long ago when I did my 69, I put the motor in first before dropping the body back. Just be very careful when putting it back on, chances are you can hit the motor. Plus, with the body off you are able to run all your lines much easier.
