I have a 67 chevelle, and i'm getting ready to replace all the front end bushings, ball joints and tie rod ends. I also want to replace the steering box. The local parts house has one for my car but it is 275.00. what is interchangable
with this car. hopefully it might be cheaper. thanks for your help.

Shoot, you can get an AGR box for that much, and it's probably better than the parts house box. There should be one available for less than that from a parts house. I think some guys were saying that NAPA sells one for $170 or something like that. That $275 one better have all the bells and whistles!

I just put on a new box this weekend. It is a Cardone 2 3/4 - 3 turns. $130 with $70 core from Advance Auto Parts. Bolts right up and works great. Lifetime warranty is nice also. Good luck

Like TH said, go with the AGR box ! I put an AGR variable ratio in my 67 this summer and it steers like a new car. They're outright , so you don't have to mess with sending a core back....on the other hand, the little lady is still bitchin' about the old box layin' in the garage.
