My original hood flew open on the interstate a few years ago after and hour of driving and hitting bumps. I sadly had to replace it with a 2" cowl repro hood. Now that repro hood bent in the middle on me to the point I don't think it can be repaired. I would rather a stock looking hood for the Malibu but no one sells a stock hood for the 67. Would the 66 fit or am I just stuck with getting another cowl hood?

You should check ebay and craigslist. I have found several malibu hoods on craigslist, but I'm in northern CA (which doesn't help you).

Yep, 67 only. Should not be too hard to find a Malibu hood if that is what you want.

The only reason I can figure for the repro hood bending is because the hood hinges are hard to open and shut. I will be getting new ones with the new hood.

If the hood hinges are hard to open and shut, oil them! They are supposed to be oiled regularly, like 3 times a year! That is the main reason they wear out and people contact me to rebuild them. If you have a metal to metal movement, hood hinge, door hinge or any type of pivoting, you need lubrication! I would stay away from reproduction hinges, as I have a pair on my shelf that a man gave them to me, brand new, he could not get them to line up. He even used a drimmel wheel and cut on the both and could not get them to fit. I am wondering if the reproduction hoods are bending because people are not lubricating their hinges?

too bad you weren't in Ontario Canada, I have a Malibu hood for my 67, they had a Super Sport hood on my car when I bought it. They threw the hood in with the car amongst other things.
