If I install a 2002 LS6 into a 69 Chevelle, do I have to run a hydroboost system or can I retain my current master cylinder / brake booster set up? I am currently running rear disc brakes, master cylinder and booster from an '81 Trans Am and would prefer it if I didn't have to replace it since it is all new. Oh well, if I have to, I will. Do the LS series engines have provisions for vacuum lines? Any information would be appreciated.

It can be a tight fit, but the stock vacuum booster fits fine in mine. The LSx motors almost all are in cars with vacuum assisted brakes.

I think it is a matter of opinion. Personally I think the vacuum boosters are great and you can even upgrade to a smaller diameter dual diaphragm unit off of a Camaro or S10. Myself, I am using a hydroboost unit off of a 2000 Astro van. I like the feel of the pedal and the fact that my cam choice will have no affect on braking performance.
