On my beater driver (92 Saturn) I got the front end aligned and they said the camber is still out .4 degrees and they cant get it any better without an offset camber bolt ($65.00). How bad will this wear my tires?
BTW, I told them the car wasn't worth the extra $65.00 bucks, but I did just put 4 new tires on it.

Let me ask you something. Do you know if they tried anything to correct it or did they just say, "sorry, the computer told me that you need a camber kit"? Many times you can correct these minor problems with shifting the sub frame or even the little bit of slack in the hole on the knuckle to strut. I just remembered something as I type this. The Saturns have a little notch that you knock out on the bolt hole to make it elongated to get the camber adjusted! You don't need a "kit", it is built into the car.
Let me explain something about late model cars. Most late models are set up at the factory to proper specs. They are welded together with perfect (or at least close enough) specs set. There are some with NO adjustments what so ever but toe like a Honda Accord or VW Passat. Then there are others with a little "help" to allow you to make adjustments. A late GM pickup for instance has a little plastic piece that you remove and then you get full control to caster and camber. A late Ford has a square washer that you remove and then install an ecentric washer on a bolt that allows you full control. The last GM truck had a round hole for the upper control arm bolts that had a "plug" that you simply knock out on each side of the hole to give you the oblong hole allowing movement for caster/camber. Your Saturn has something similar. The round hole has marks on it that you probably can "knockout" witht the correct tool, I personally just grind them out with my "hand mill" (die grinder with a carbide tip).
So in a nut shell, these guys "should" be able to align the car (though this extra work SHOULD cost more, it is only fair) if they know what they are doing that is. graemlins/waving.gif

By the way, if you were to post the FULL specs for you car and the recommended specs it would be easy to tell you how that .4 may effect your car. .4 for is nothing maybe or it is ton, it depends on a number of factors including the other side. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
