Hello Matt,

Thanks for waiting, we appreciate it! We have them in production now so they are close. The upper A-Arms are no adjustable but feature a geometry change for improved alignments and lowered vehicles. The price per set of upper and lowers will be $899 and includes new upper and lower ball joints, chrome moly cross shafts, spring isolator and bump stops. The upper control arms feature delrin bushings while the lowers will come with polyurethane, delrin may be an option on the lowers at a later date.

If you have any additional questions please ask. Thank you!

Greetings Brad, I recently purchased the #4021 LCA's and #4034 Rear Sway bar. FINALLY got everything installed today. Your website says 1 hour install.... but that doesn't include the 7 days of beating, heating, PB Blasting, beer,(repeat) to get the encrusted 44 year old bolts out !!! Took it for a ride and it feels WAY safer and handles better...the rear end was pretty squirrely before. The UMI parts fit well (and did only take about an hour), good quality, and you guys respond to emails. Pleasure doing business with you...

ryan,
Do the front upper arms have a tube connecting the side tubes together under the flat metal with the letters UMI on it making it look like an "A" from the under side or is the flat metal the only brace in the center.

Also, what are the drag race front control arms you were refering to in another post you are making? Are they the same arm, just with delrin, for maximum weight transfer?

Thanks,
Greg

Hello Greg,

Thanks for the interest and I will be glad to help.

Yes there is a connecting tube under the engraved UMI plate making them a true "A" arm.

Our drag race version is mostly a change in the upper A-Arm. The upper A-Arms will be chromoly steel, we will remove the engraved UMI plate, it will use the same delrin bushings but feature aluminum cross shafts for weight savings. The ball joints supplied will also be a low friction ball joint in both the upper and lower A-Arm.

The drag race arms are pretty much completed, we haven't manufacture the aluminum cross shaft yet but it will be completed shortly.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thank you!

Excellent. The low friction ball joint was going to be my next question. Do you have any idea on production release of these items? I want a set of uppers and lowers. Spring is just around the corner!

Ryan,

We'll you be able to offer the lower arms with a large shock opening for afco and other large body shocks? We obviously loose the advantage of the powder coat if the end user has to cut and weld on the new arms for this application.

Thanks again,
Greg

Sorry for the delay Greg. We can have these ready to ship in 2 weeks or so. I will get some more pictures and pricing up as soon as I can. The pricing will be a little different due to material and ball joints as both are more expensive.

Afco shocks do fit with our A-Arms. Is there certain Afco part # you are looking to use?

Thanks again!

Ryan,
The afco part is 3840 or 3850. The afco shock body is 2.4 inches in diameter, which requires the larger opening in the a-arm and requires the mounting holes relocated.
Afco send a ring that you weld in your factory a-arm, after enlarging the shock opening to the required size, that provides the correct opening and mounting holes for the tie bar of the shock to mount. This is my concern because if I cut and weld on your arms then I loose the powder coat and worry if I can access the bolt to mount the shock with, with the deep spring cup (which I like by the way).
Thanks for helping,
Greg

Greg,

The Afco shocks fit great with our lower A-Arms. The opening in our A-Arm is larger for the T-Bar to fit through. We are running an Afco #3845CF shock on our vehicle now and the fit is fine. You also won't need to cut or install the supplied ring they include.

I hope this helps :)
Ryan

EDIT- Greg, we are also an Afco dealer so if I can help with pricing on any Afco items I will be happy too. We haven't got their products listed on our site yet.

Ryan,

Thank you for all the time and effort you have provided so far. I am impressed. You are turning into a one stop shop. Post or pm me when your race arms are ready for distribution. I am interested in the afco shock also. If you wouldn't mind checking on the part number that fits my vehicle. I have a 70 chevelle and want the afco BNC non coil over, front shock.

I want to get that 1.4x 60 foot times in the 1.3x or better, so stock a-arms and single adjust QA1's have to go!!!

Thanks,
Greg

Hey Umi,

Why would one want tubular rear lowers rather than boxed?

I'm installing a 1" suspension drop and figured its a good time to get some adjustable/non stamped sheet metal control arms.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the interest and I will be glad to help.

Both items will work the exact same and strength is not an issue with either one. We started by offering the tubular design only but many customers requested the boxed version instead. They liked the boxed version because it looks more like a factory arm while the tubular looks more "race oriented". Our boxed arms feature the same dimensions in wide and height as the factory control arms, we also cap the ends and sand them nicely to blend everything in. Many restoration shops like these boxed arms.

This is what brought about the boxed style arm. So we recommend to purchase them based on preference only. The tubular style is lighter and less expensive and both items except a rear sway bar.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thank you!

cool! Just pick up a of tubular rears on ebay.

Question about axle housing bushings. I figure I'll replace them, cause I know they are many years old. I read about how poly bushings here could cause problems (vibes and shimmy ..ect), and some guy buy expensive spherical bushings ... can anyone shed some light here?

I'm just building a cruiser here.
