I know alot of guys don`t like it because it`s been done to death but I still like it and I`m already planning on doing it when I finally get my elky project but I was just wanting to see some pics of some black primered elkys. 64-65 is more of what I`m looking for but any 64-72 will do.

Interesting Anthony. My hood is black primer right now. Wonder what a black primer hood with a gray primer hood stripe would look like. Didn't know it was that popular.

Primer won't hold up very long and will not protect the sheetmetal. You would be better off to use a flat black paint.

Yeah I know the primer doesn`t protect the metal. I wasn`t talking about the rattle can stuff but I know that no primer will protect the metal. I am actually going to use either the JD blitz black or the Hot Rod Flats satin black. I don`t want to spend the money to have the body and paint done. I don`t plan to keep the car forever, just clean it up and drive it for a while and then sell it and put the money towards a better car.

Thanks Tony. I`ve already saved several pics of his 67. Thats what kind of inspired me to go that route. If everything works out this time I`ll have a 65 elky this coming weekend. Sending you a pm Tony

I thought about doing a flat gray '70 with flat black stripes.
Instead of using primer, knock the gloss out of the gray paint with flattener.
Flat black is easy to come by, flat gray, me no know.
Same effect, but with metal protection.
Just a thought.

They got a light grey and a darker one.
