Going from a 350 to a 402 with iron heads, i was looking more at getting 1" dropped springs for the front and standard springs in the back.
What brand of springs are good/popular/reliable/awesome and what weight rating?
How do you think a '70 would look with a 1" drop in the front only??

I would use moog 5372 w/o ac. 5374 with ac, if you dont want a rough ride. Trim a half coil from the start if you dont want to have to pull them out again.

I just put 5372's in the front of mine. Wouldn't recommend cutting the 5372's, spring rate is low. Without shocks installed or sway bar hooked up, I was able to push the car down to the bump stops by leaning on the fender (weigh 250#) - easily. 5374's are a little stiffer than the 5372, but I think it will still be too low rate to trim. If you want it lowered and do not want to run the higher rate lowering springs, get 5390's and cut 1/2 - 3/4 coil.

What about some of the springs that are already specified "1 in drop" ?
So i should go with BBC w/o A/C... and

Would they not be a good idea??

When I first built the car I installed Hotchkiss 1" lowering springs. Car sat "stock" height. Cut 1 coil off to get it where I wanted and ended up with a suspension that was so hard it rattled the fillings in you teeth. I've got a set of 5390's here that are cut. How far is Essex, MD. Can't be that far. Shipping wt is 17#. I'd tell you to try these first before spending any $$$. PM me if interested.
