mad hooker Nov 15th, 09, 1:49 AM replaced the flex plate on my gmc sierra today. well i started it up and forgot the converter to flexplate bolts. everything moved and spinned freely as soon as i was done tightening them up i fired her back up and this weird grinding/ vibrating noise occurred. nothing seemed to be in the way. maybe the converter slipped out? any ideas guys? thanks:mad::( 65cayne Nov 15th, 09, 9:27 AM is it on backwards? mad hooker Nov 16th, 09, 2:17 PM no, it's not on backwards...but i did realize i had the bolts way over tightened. i loosened them to 45 foot pounds, but it still makes the sound. without the bolts it didn't make any weird sounds...and with the bolts it's a very loud grinding sort of sound.
