OK so here is basic plan for the wagon now and I hope to get started on chassis this winter.

Overall width 71.0 inches (1.803 m)
Front tread 59.6 inches (1.514 m)
Rear tread 60.4 inches (1.534 m)
Standard Wheel size 16 x 8.5 inches
Standard Tires P245/50VR-16 or P255/50VR-16 SBR
Steering rack and pinion (power assisted)
Front suspension Single fiberglass composite monoleaf transverse spring with unequal-length aluminum control arms and stabilizer bar
Rear suspension Fully independent five-link system with transverse fiberglass single-leaf springs, aluminum upper/lower trailing links and strut-rod tie-rod assembly
Brakes Four-wheel power disc
Fuel tank 20 US Gal (16.7 Imp Gal) (76 liters)

Well it looked good on paper and still in planning stages. Few minor changes along the way 383 FI engine aprx 450HP 450TQ nearly complete need new intake, cam, oil pan, timing chain.

My donor car is an 87 C4 complete car, that has all the suspension and brakes for the project I need. The tires and rims will not look good on the wagon so I will keep them for mock up. After I get the donor stripped and get the extra parts sold I will have the bare chassis to start cutting. I have another wagon frame that wil get all the parts and and mods grafted onto it. So all the parts I have now for the car are being sold and I have been pulling boxes down with all the old brakes and suspension components. Finding sway bars, steering boxes, brakes, you name it it is on the shelf for the initial project. Hopefully I can get the funds from all the old stuff to pay chassis builder next month. Really trying to fast track this project now, have major sheetmetal work to do and well. Building this thing up as Pro Tour Sleeper.

Dave, who's building the chassis?

Magnum Superchargers "Gary" said he has put that front it suspension a few cars. He has put that rear suspension in other cars as well. Never did both on the same car so with wagon frame as a roller and C4 as a donor he can have at it.

Way to go man! I've got more bolt-on goodies heading under mine. It'll be cool to compare the two of them and see the differences.

65 2dr was a factory PS/PB/AC/AT tinted window car. Not much left of that as most is rusted an will need replacing.
Selling all the C4 parts and all the old stuff is taking more of my time then I thought. I have been going through boxes and finding stuff I forgot or didn't remember buying. Like when did I buy 2 sets of rear Disc brakes. Hey whats in this box, Oh a new Blaster coil and things like that all day Sunday. Did have a guy come out and he wants the entire front clip off the C4 so that puts me 1/3 closer to payback. Some of the Club guys were out yesterday and they were helping me pull boxes and buy parts. They asked why do you have so many starters, alt, waterpumps, ect all day long. Then selling parts that I forgot I had rebuilt and painted knowing I really lost money on that deal.
Now work is going to pick up and my 2 weeks off in Dec has been canceled, well thats the way it works for me.

Getting closer to getting the Corvette stripped today.
Now trying to get EFI info to get MORE PARTS! More folks coming over this Sunday to strip body and interior parts out of the vette and help repay the purchase price. Going to check the EFI forum on what I need and don't on engine. Then Sunday night post ads of more stuff for sale.

Have the frames booked to go into shop for magical grafting. The C4 front and rear suspension get installed on the wagon frame. This is fun costly but fun, and while they are out start drilling spot welds and get ready for new floor and braces to weld in.

Have a line on a ZR1 upgrade suspension components trying to decide if it will be worth it. Need to find out what is all included in the set up an what size wheels will be needed.

If you have a Dana 44 diff, I would keep what you have. The C4 had some suspension changes in '88. The Zr1 would have the J55 13" brakes which became standard in '94 or 95. The 84-87 geometry was slightly different from the later cars which some say is better.

If you get the Zr1 parts be sure to check if they'll bolt on the '87. Offsets would change for the wheel but the clearance for overall width should be the same between the early and late cars. The Zr1 suspension with the exception of spring rates, and the fx3 shocks and J55 brakes becoming standard were the same as any other 88-96.

The link below has the spring rates, sway bars etc for all C4s.

Hopefully when the body comes off I can get a build sheet with all the specs on the car.
I was told the Automatic cars only had Dana 36 rear ends and are Ok just not ment for any drag racing. I will need to rebuild everything as it goes back on along with clean and clear most of the Aluminum parts. Thanks for the link by the way I will need to keep it as a reference source.

This frame is going to pose some unforseen issues that will require a little creative thought. The more that I pull off the donor the more Corvette only parts I find.

As long as you are sticking with an automatic, the 36 will be fine. A manual trans will make short work of that rear end with 400+ horsepower. I have one car with a 36, auto trans and about 410 hp and is is holding up well. My other car has a 44 in it and I will never hurt it. Currrent project is a 67 wagon is getting a 12 bolt axle behind the 6 speed auto.

No plans for slicks on this as I was told they will wipe it out in a heartbeat. Only looking at a 16X9 or 17X9 for rims and tire combo, leaning towards the repop 69SS rims to keep with the Pro Sleeper theme.
I was informed the intake and heads will leave the bottom end soggy and that will help save the rearend gears. Still should make enough TQ and HP to break parts if I flog it hard.

Dave- my wheels are 17x8 with lots of room so you should be right on with the 9s.

TAKE PICS!

Can't wait to see you flogging this thing...!

Scott I'll send you pics of both frames before and after, my photos are bad so I may need a friend to take them for me. May need some help on a few things down the line if that is possible. Who knows with everything that is going on.
