I'm converting to front drums to disk brakes. I bought calipers and a brake booster for a '70 Chevelle to put on my '67 Chevelle. The only problem I've had is, the rod on the brake booster seems to be shorter than the one for the drum master cylnder. Has anyone seen this befor and can a correct length be bought or do I have to fabricate something?

The rod on the booster face side can be pulled out and replaced with a correct one. However, in your case you need a disc/drum MC with a shallow pushrod hole that has a MC bore of 1 1/8". Just ask the parts counter guy for a power disc MC for the '70 Chevelle you got the booster for.

Just want to add, have you purchased a proportioning valve for your disc setup? I went from drum to disc and didn't know i needed this (MADE a big difference in how the brakes worked). Ran me like $70, but i have been told its a must have.

yep! Also I seem to have the long rod already. Will the pedal come back up to the same position as the manual pedal? I have the small pedals (4-speed)It looks to be lower than before.
