Hi, looked through the archives on putting 93-97 f-body rear discs on an a body. It looks like they will bolt to the axle but I may have to 'swap sides' due to shock interference. I have seen several good websites on people doing this with their F-bodies but has anyone here done this swap with their A-bodies, I couldn't find anyone in the archives who has done this. Could anyone who has actually performed this swap give me the lowdown on it (what you did, parking brake etc.)?
Thanks in advance!

I'm in the process of doing it, but I havn't actually bolted them on yet.
check my website in a couple weeks, I hope to update it with lots of pics pretty soon, I've just about got all the truckarm kit welded in, and the brakes are next on the to-do list

Brian,
I will be doing the same also. Just got the parts in for the rear and working on cleaning up the donor axle for trial fittings. I have finished the front C4 12" standard trail fittings and will update a page with more dial up friendly pics and drawings. If you have some sketches or dimemensions, I would love to bounce some ideas of each other. I think everyone who is intertested in the swap will benefit. - John

I am hoping the backing plates and calipers will simply bolt on my 8.5" axle. Just from messing around with it a little, it looks like they will.
The backing plates have a larger diameter hole than the axle tube, but the mounting holes appear to line up with the stock holes on the old axle.
The only fitment issues I anticipate are having to do some custom work with the lines. I'm planning on getting stock chevelle replacement lines for the rear axle, then probably cutting the ends off and splicing on flexible line to attach to the caliper.
Another caveat, I'm not planning on having an emergency brake. that probably greatly simplifies my installation. I've removed the e-brake mechanism from the '95 z28 calipers I got.
I too am in the 'cleaning' stage, the calipers i got are pretty grundgy. I do hope to have alot of updates to my site soon.
