My 71 is a sweep gauge dash with AC. This part for sale on eBay says its for the round gauge dash. I can't figure out what the differences would be regarding the column cover. I really need this part with the vent.

My question is: Will this steering column cover fit my 71 with a sweep gauge dash?

Here is one that says it will not fit SS models. Its cheaper, and (apparently) its for my Malibu sweep dash AC.

The one for the SS dash is bigger. They wont interchange. I think i have one at the house from my dash changeover. I will check tonight. If you want it 35.00 and i will pay the shipping. That will save you 15.00 from the one on ebay.

Thanks again Buck!! I just finished detailing my dash last weekend and installing a new steering wheel. There must have been three pounds of dust and dirt behind the dash!! I fixed all the broken/cracked plastic, then painted the dash and the pad with flexible vinyl die/paint. Also repainted the steering column and the new steering boss a satin black. It came out so good, that I can't stand to not have that missing piece..... steering column cover.

Looks familiar.
I am in the same boat, detailing a sweep dash.
The unit in my ElCo appears to have had a speaker get hot and melt the left side of the dash..
Good buddy gave me a dash and and pad, and I scrounged the dash wiring, just in case.
I am in the process of designing a 1 DIN with 3 gauge plate to go where the radio was.
My search will get around to a steering column cover, but my buddy probably has those too.
Looks great, and gives my a boot in the backside to get back on mine.
P.S. No joke on all the dirt, YUK!
