My son and I are fixing up a 71 Malibu. Authentic restoration is not our goal. We have access to a 1979 Camero w/ a V8 and wanted to know if the power front disc brakes and the bucket seats will work on the Chevelle. It currently has non-power drums on the front and a bench seat. Thanks for any feedback.

THe 79 Camaro has whats commonly called the "tall" spindles. You can use the whole disk brake and spindle assembly, with some research. Do a search for "tall spindle". You will find a ton of information. As for the bucket seats, your on your own. I would take them out and just see how they fit.

Steve, you can just go to the bottom of this page and look at the drop-down menu that says "Hop to:". At the bottom of that menu are the archives. Click the Disc Brake Conversion archive and you'll find more information than you'll ever need.

When you get an idea what you're looking at, feel free to ask more specific questions.

Andrew, I saw your car twice in the latest PHR magazine. One reader asking about your wheels, and a pic of the car at a show. As always, NICE! graemlins/thumbsup.gif Those guys are giving you lots of publicity. I hope you're at least a subscriber by now. ;)
