I when I got my 69 it was missing the SS396 piece that sits above the glove box. I did some searching and could not find a SS396 at a reasonable price (i kept getting out bid on ebay), but I did come across a Malibu one from a salvaged car I scored some parts off for free. I then purchased the S396 insert from OPGI (for $10 and I was thinking I scored), but I cant figure out how to do the sway, any help? If push comes to shove I will buy one, but $ is tight with all my other spending :yes:

It comes off from nuts on inside of dashboard. You have to remove glovebox to get to them, then remove old one and slide insert new one.

I got it off, but the Malibu insert seems like its glued into the metal frame and I dont see how this plastic SS piece goes in. Hope that helps, thanks

there should be some insets / tabs / rivet type things on the back of the malibu emblem that you need to carefull drill out. If you go through too far, you will see it from the front so take your time.
