One of the coolest new products we found at SEMA this year is Wilwoods 2 piston replacement caliper for 1969 and newer single piston factory Disc Brakes. This 2 piston caliper comes in red and uses factory pads, and mounts to factory caliper bracket.

This is a great way to get improved stopping, and get that trick big brake look on a budget. They list for Only $330 a pair, I expect these to be huge sellers.

We have a batch of calipers on order and we are taking orders now.

Does this add braking surface area?

No, uses factory pads. But certainly more clamping power and more even distribution.

Great headsup!! Very curious to see if anyone does some real time tests with these. Not so much on total stopping distance, but more so with big cam/low vacuum motors.

You have Wilwood part numbers for these? Are they all aluminum?

I do not expect any big difference in low vacuum situations. that is controlled by master cylinder size and inches of vacuum.

We are installing a set on a street drag car of ours that can use a little help. We use a manual 1" Bore master with factory front disc and rear drums. This will be a good test as it has to slow from 124MPH to 144MPH depending weather we spray it or not. Stay tuned

They are aluminum, no part numbers yet.

I do not have weights, but yes, there is a obvious weight difference. I could tell that without even having a original in my hand. I think the originals were made of lead, LOL!
