Any tips on pushing in new rear end housing bushings on a 12 bolt. I have heard of heating up the ears so they expand but I don't want to break the ears. Any other tips or tricks that would make this job easier would be great. Don't want to waste what I have aready put in it.

Try doing a search in this forum and also 'tips & fixes' forum. You can make your own tool out of pipe nipples to 'pull' the bushing in.

on the rear housing I just use a piece of 4x4 and a BFH. just take a file and make sure there are no burs in the seat and use some grease. now the control arms I use a homemade press from allthread and pipe fittings to install them while using a spacer between the open ends of the control arms to keep them from colapsing.

believe it or not, put the bushings in the freezer for about 12 hours. this contracts them making them a lot easier to install. then use a c- clamp and short piece of pipe to press them in. worked great for me.

I agree with the freezer idea. Just throw them in the freezer for a little while. However, take one at a time from the freezer when replacing, and leave the other until you are ready for them. Otherwise they will expand from the heat.
