We are currently replacing the bushings and converting to disc on my 67 front end. We got all the bushings in but we can't get the spring (new) to get compresed enough so we can get the control arms bolted on. Any tips on how to do this easy and safe? graemlins/beers.gif

You got a spring compressor?

The onlt other way I've seen to do it is to bolt up the lower ball joint. Stick the spring in and jack the arm up the frame then bolt it in. I don't think I'd want to do it that way but it can be done safely with a chain through the spring.

Wes,

I just put 5536 Moogs in the front end of my 67. They are 15 inches long. I cout off one coil, which only shorted them about 3/4", and they just slid right in. In fact, I thought they were too short until I installed the shocks and put a little pressure on them. :D

What springs are you using?

Rent a spring compressor such as this one (http://www.kentool.com/img/39750.jpg). It's the only really safe way to install new coil springs.
