: 69 Post
69 Post Sedan Nov 8th, 09, 7:56 AM The wording on this car is very deceiving.
"We have a very very rare 69 chevelle deluxe 2dr post. 5620 total production, 1400 carried "SS" options!"
"Paint:This car was finished in Dupont Chrome-Base/ Clearcoat in the original "69" color of Daytona Yellow (Code-76)"
"Interior: The interior of this car is in nice. The front and rear seats carry the white stripes along the with ss badges to match "SS" option. The car has a new "SS" grill option with new bumpers front and rear."
But by looking at the pictures it's not a SS. :noway:

If you read closely they never claim it to be an SS. I didn't think the 300 came with a vinyl roof. At least I never remember seeing one. Then again this car has a lot of things it shouldn't have.

My point exactly...the ad leads on that it has the "SS" options but never states it's a SS.
Again, let me point out, he states how many 69 SS Post cars were built, that it is "painted" Daytona Yellow Code 76 (SS option only) and that it has SS badges.
It's called wordsmithing!

I'm not sure if the 300 Dlx post sedan was available with a vinyl roof but I know the 300 Dlx hardtop was. Mine came that way originally per trim tag, 72 B.
Wheelhop Nov 8th, 09, 9:37 AM Post cars were available with a vinyl roof.
Wheelhop Nov 8th, 09, 9:47 AM Just looked at the vin listed on the ebay ad:
This car could not be an SS because it has a 133 vin which decodes to a 6 cylinder car.
Dean Nov 8th, 09, 10:05 AM The ad doesn't say that the car is an SS.
oops, Brad already said that :o
fishhead Nov 8th, 09, 10:33 AM Isnt Daytona Yellow an SS only color? Or was it available on 330 dlx???

yes
69 Post Sedan Nov 8th, 09, 11:21 AM I really don't think you guys are paying attention.
I will go over it one more time.
I realize he never says it's a true SS but his wordsmithing implies that it is a SS with his description.
He tells us "We have a very very rare 69 chevelle deluxe 2dr post. 5620 total production, 1400 carried "SS" options!" This does not say it is a SS but implies it is!
He states it's painted code 76 Daytona Yellow which is SS only, which implies it's a SS!
He states it has "ss badges to match "SS" option. The car has a new "SS" grill option with new bumpers front and rear." Again, misleading.
To a unsuspected buyer this "might" be a true SS and if they didn't do any research, they would succumb to a misleading ad!
Maybe it's because it's Sunday morning and you guys haven't had enough coffee yet. :D
Berto Nov 8th, 09, 11:26 AM the white ss strips on the interior give it away !!
Wheelhop Nov 8th, 09, 11:39 AM the white ss strips on the interior give it away !!
those are 300 deluxe seats which would be correct on an SS post sedan or a plain jane 300 deluxe malibu. What is not there is the SS 396 dash plaque over the glove box.
I agree with Brkyard, this guy is misleading in his comments and what he has left to the imagination.
I'd like to see the trim tag too to see what the original color is supposed to be.
This could be a cool car represented honestly.
fishhead Nov 8th, 09, 12:26 PM WAIT Wait Wait...
I think I asked the wrong question above....
The Daytona yellow an SS ONLY color...
sooo
Can you order a NON SS 300 Dlx with Daytona Yellow?

I *think* so but it would have dashes (or something beside the Daytona Yellow paint code) on the trim tag, denoting special paint.
Maybe someone else can answer without the "*think* :D
Matter of interpretation I guess.
Anyone interested in anything being advertised for sale should at least take the time to read what the seller said.
cheveslakr Nov 8th, 09, 1:11 PM He never claims it to be an original "to the car" 76 paint code, again wordsmithing. He lets you and your enthusiam come to that conclusin. He only claims it to be an original daytona yellow color. Hopefully no one gets fooled. Not sure if you could special order that color on a non-SS but if you could it would get the --- on the trim tag. You would never see code 76 though.

Wordsmithing. Thats about the same way I would describe it when I read that too. Not quite cut and dried by any means.
Wheelhop Nov 8th, 09, 3:53 PM I sent a question to this guy:
Question: Hi, interested in you car for sale. Are you saying in your ad that this is
Super Sport? I am looking for a real SS post sedan. How far are you from Columbia SC? I am there on business
for a few more weeks. thanks, Jim

because I do not know, welcome to call thanks billy
I assume he's talking about the Charlotte goodguys show last weekend. Seems like an honest reply.
fishhead Nov 8th, 09, 3:54 PM I too got a reply...
He states that it is being cloned...
Hellucallit Nov 8th, 09, 6:16 PM When will people learn how to paint stripes?? Other than that, neat car, non SS.
fishhead Nov 8th, 09, 6:41 PM LOL...
HE has my stripes...:D
I purposely made mine that way because I blacked out the entire front end and didnt want the black stripes almost meeting up with the front end...
