The second SS 396 I bought as a parts car has a frame thatīs different than the first one.
The first one has a frame that isnīt boxed. It has U-shaped sides.I assume this is a correct frame for a coupe.
The second one is boxed, and has a triangular shape. Is this a convertible frame, or mabye an Elky frame ?
What are the differences ?
Do you have any links to pictures of frames ?

The first frame is a hard top frame. The second one is a convertible frame. 68-72 elcamino frames are 4 inches longer and will not fit under a coupe without some cutting and welding.

The second car has been raced for some time. I wonder if they put a convertible frame under it because itīs stronger ? Itīs also quite a bit heavier a guess. :rolleyes:
