Looking for some assistance. Ground up has the 70 Chevelle Front Disc Brake Mini Kit (FSK-69) for $169: http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...ct_Code=FSK-69 -- Link doesn't seem to be working - Part # FSK-69)

Does anyone know if these are Factory "Correct" colors, etc? Compared to the individual parts, which states in the description "correct", these look alittle different (and big cost difference)

Caliper Mounting Brackets
http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=FM-2501 (Part # FM-250)

Spindles
http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=FM-3712 (Part # FM-3712)

Caliper Backing Plates
http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=FPP-11J (Part # FPP-11J)

If anyone knows the difference please let me know, I called ground-up but they are closed right now and hoping to get the parts on order tonight

Thanks!

Dave

From what I can see in the pictures they look ok.
There may be some variation in color of brackets and shields due to different suppliers at different plants and times.

Cad shields and gold iridite brackets did come on some cars.
I think all steering knuckles were as cast, no paint.

Watch out!!!

repro caliper brakets don't work with GM original super sport wheels. They push the caliper out to touch (rub) the wheel.:clonk:

Do a search here to find out more info.

I found out the hard way with the repop caliper brackets. They do push the caliper out to rub on the SS wheels! Will be sending out my originals to be replated.

Well, that's a bummer. I was already having a problem with the calipers seeming to pinch the outer pad on the rotor causing excessive drag. I haven't tried a stock wheel on mine...will do so today.

Also, I don't like the way the brake line comes in to the repro. caliper...not stock...I guess I'll have to rebuild mine with the OE stuff.

Where is a good place to send them to be redone properly?

Last I heard Micky could help with some of your plating needs.

Alan, I had the same issue with the brake hoese going to my calipers as well. I had to find rebuilt GM for correctness. The stuff I got from Napa was not correct and the rubber brake hoses did not fit correct.

You'll have less head aches using original parts.
Sparky's Carburetor Service (http://www.sparkyscarbs.com/plating.htm) can do the plating or Mickey Hale (http://www.haleperformance.com/) can do it.

What about the Caliper Backing Plate (Ground-Up #FPP-11J) Do they fit okay?
