: Gotago, Welcome back to The World!
kettbo Nov 5th, 09, 6:48 PM Unless my dates are messed-up, the man from San Antonio (former NW guy) Mark 'gotago' Smith has begun movement homeward from overseas "on government business." Mark, thanks for your selfless service to the Nation.
Now get home to Mrs Gotago, get caught up on life, then get that Chevelle to the track!
66SSFan Nov 5th, 09, 6:51 PM Mark, thanks for your selfless service to the Nation.

1966malibu Nov 6th, 09, 10:18 AM I know the date for Marks return is close. I just don't want to get to excited until we hear from the big guy himself . I will feel much better when he lets us all know he is home.
Have a safe trip Mark.
primernovaben Nov 6th, 09, 10:57 AM is he stationed at fort hood? hopefully he didnt get back too soon... :(
66 Buick Special Nov 6th, 09, 11:59 AM I was concerned too Ben, but I asked George yesterday and he assured me that Ft Hood was quite a distance from where Mark is stationed.
kettbo Nov 6th, 09, 1:32 PM IIRC Mark will return through the east coast, the way he left.
The incident at TX was people getting ready to go, not those returning.
gotago Nov 7th, 09, 8:46 PM Fellas,
First and formost thanks for keeping me in y'alls thoughts. Part of what got me thorough the sometimes tedium there is reading about the famous TCNW's adventures. Your posts kept me motivated as I was able to think of something more pleasant in life.
Our trip home started on the 4th about 2200 or so. Our flight was delayed about 3 hours as we waited for a short ceremony that honored one of our fallen brothers and he was brought on board. I was hoping to not see another one of those ceremomys before I left but was grateful for the chance to see a brother home at least part of the way. We flew to Qatar for gas and a crew change and then headed for Germany. It was cold and raining when we got there (typical Germany for November) and only stayed on the ground about an hour before we took off for the US. At this point in time we'd been flying for about 10 hours or so and it was another 10 hours to North Carolina. I got about 4 hours of sleep and we had to get up and turn in some equipment and head for the airport to catch our comerical flight home. I got in this morning really early and got some rack time. I'm sitting here now clad in my newest FDL Racing tee shirt and am about to clean out the beer fridge so I can restock it:D.
Anyway, its great to be home and have another tour done. I'm looking forward to getting together with all of you sometime next year. I'm taking some time before I tear into the car but should be back to the track in DEC in time for the next race season with some improvements. I'm starting to get the fever bad again and this time I got money:yes:
Again, thanks for the thoughts and kind words. I'm truly blessed to have friends like y'all.

I'm sure that when we sit down with a good single malt beverage and some stogies that you'll have some yarns for me. Glad that you are home. I can take another person from the "deployed" list to "don't worry about this F-er, he's home drinking beer" category.
BTW, what was the first beverage you migrated toward?:beers:
