: '69 Bucket 'buttons' location?
joerob727 Nov 5th, 09, 5:29 PM Hey guys,
New covers going on my '69 buckets and the current covers are non-'69 so I don't have any reference to the locations of the 2 buttons for each bucket or the rear bench. To clarify, I am refering to the upholstery buttons on the front of the seat, not the release button on the back.
Does anyone have any pictures of and/or ideally any measurements as well?
Thank you all for your time.
1969 El Camino Dan Nov 5th, 09, 8:06 PM Buttons are just shy of 8 inches down from the top seam with the tape following the the contour. 7 7/8 inches to the center line of the button.

Nope, included, but packaged seperately.
Thanks for the info and pics Dan.
Are you not running headrests? Thinking about leaving mine off, they're not in very good condition, niether are the bezels and associated hardware.
THanks again.

L72Chevelle Nov 8th, 09, 12:21 PM Hi Joe, I have new Legendary covers for my 69 still in the plastic. I can take a pic if you like as they come with the buttons on them. Phil
1969 El Camino Dan Nov 8th, 09, 12:31 PM I'll try to get the measurement from the back seat of my Malibu. Be later on today...

I never knew that so ill have to keep this in mind for my 69 down the road. How do the buttons attach from behind then?
1969 El Camino Dan Nov 8th, 09, 3:27 PM Legendary Auto Interiors covers do have the buttons already installed.
Otherwise, you would poke a hole in the material and spread out the metal mounting tabs.
Even though my buttons were already installed, I took some HD glue and some Gorilla tape over the tabs to make sure they weren't going anywhere.

1969 El Camino Dan Nov 9th, 09, 7:32 AM Back seat buttons are 10 inches down from the back edge, the tape bends around the seat back. Measures 14 inches up from the bottom edge.

Chris R Nov 9th, 09, 11:02 PM The last set of new covers I seen were for a 69 and they had the buttons on them already. Which is what the line of thinking I had aftering seeing them in the packages.
joerob727 Nov 11th, 09, 12:21 AM Hey guys, thanks for all, . . . just one more thing.
Got the measurements for buckets and rear bench. All I need is the lateral location of the rear bench buttons. I'm guessing they're 10 inches down from the top on the second seam out from the center pattern like on the buckets. Just would like confirmation.
Thanks again all.

Yes, they match the bucket seat back location.
