Who makes the best kit for the price? Where can I buy the spindles alone?

2X,

Use the search function and look for the many different recommendations on kits.

There is not one "best" kit available but many choices with pros and cons.

Do you want an upgraded kit, or will stock style work for you? There are a lot of choices out there. Give us some more specifics as to what you want to use the vehicle for in terms of driving, racing, show only, etc.

Our sponsor, Ground Up has seperate spindles, or a mini kit for like $269(?). If your car is a 69 or later, you can modify your spindles to accept the caliper brackets available also from Ground UP and bolt on a set of loaded calipers from your local parts house. There are a gazillion aftermarket kits available. Take your pick.

I have a 66' that is used for drag racing only. I would like to replace my drum brakes with disc.

I'd say Cam's idea is a good one.
