I have a fully-restored 72 El Camino and will be moving to Tyler, Texas, next spring. Anyone know of a good high-performance mechanic near there?

Judie, Tyler is a big classic car town. I'm sure you can find anything you need here. There are lot's of shows and Whataburger and Sonic Cruise Nights every week from February-October.

For what part of the car? Engines = Ortigo Racing Engines, Transmission = Hayes Transmission.

Just general stuff. I just wanted to get some references because I don't want just anybody working on my car. That's all. Thanks for responding.

Really? Well, that's great news. My car is still in California, but when I ship her back there next spring, I'll have to attend some of the events and talk to people. Thanks for the heads-up.

Judy if it is just general stuff the best in this country is a friend of mine. He does not do it full time for the public just what he wants to. He will not do restoration work or build engines but everything else he is unbelievable. If you have the patience to let him work at his pace it will be as good as it gets for less money. He has been helping me keep my cars running for the last 20 years.

Thanks. I'm not sure how far away that would be.

About 250 miles or so.
