Does anyone have a link that would show all the different brake calipers? My son put rear discs on his pick-up and when one seized-up the supplier wanted an arm and a leg for a replacement. It's just a regular Delco Moraine with a parking brake. He was told it was originaly from a Toronado but a locally purchased one was much smaller. Is there a listing or a way to trace it? We might be able to find some casting numbers this week-end when he takes it off.

If its off a FWD Toro it should have casting number 121 or 122...something like that.

Something tells me though, from your description, that its the "large" rear disc calipers. Rebuild kits for these calipers are cheap, but a pain in the butt to install the power screw back in when assembling the pistons.

Typically these rear disc calipers were from '77-'79 RWD cadillacs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply 72SSAbody. It's still acting up so I'll get a chance to look closely for those numbers. We can't get the adjusting screw to go back in. I have the proper tool but it just won't turn. He has run this truck in very deep mud so that's probably "cemented" in there. Any further details on the power screw you mentioned would be appreciated. I keep thinking there is a data base for all this.

Scroll down to the caliper rebuild instructions to give you a better "view" of how things work.
