I need some help with troubleshooting this Holley Carb. I have a 396 with the 750 holley. The engine misses and I am getting gas out of the exhaust. The timing is correct. Don't know if I need to replace the jets or what. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Take the sight plugs out and adjust the float levels before you do anything. By the way, I'm assuming this is a std 4 barrel Holley. When you say the timing is correct, what are you setting it to? Initial, centrifigal, total, and vac advance? If you're getting gas out the exhaust, the plugs are probably junk too.

The timing is set 6 degrees advance, sight plugs were already taken out and the float levels already advanced. And yes, it is a std 4 barrel Holley.
Thank you for your input

6° advance is too retarded, should be in the 16-18° range with vacuum advance temporarily plugged - that will help the car a lot, but probably isn't the cause of your miss.

I'd check your spark plug wires, cap/rotor and see if you have a problem there first.
