I have a 72 El Camino with a LS5 (1971 - 454 cubic inch, Oval Port head, Corvette Engine) and am going to install a Pete Jackson Gear Drive in it. I am considering replacing the Harmonic Dampner when I do. It is an External unit and looks to be the 7" OEM version .

My question is "What is the difference between a 7" and a 8" Dampner?"

The car is a "driver" and is rarely driven hard.
