What year model Chevelle SS had this type of kickdown set up and which years had a switch under the gas pedal ? I'm not sure about these and want to learn more?

Electric switch under the gas pedal was for turbo 400 equipped cars, which used an electronic kickdown.

TH350 used a cable, no idea about powerglides.

Glide uses a hard rod (linkage) for kick down, carb to transmission. That one in the pic looks like it might be an aftermarket solution for a TH-400

Yup.

'68-newer had the switch on the gas pedal.

'67 and older had the switch on the carb linkage.

B body and pickups also used a switch on the carb linkage for some many years.

Thanks guys. I have the aftermarket set up on my TH400. I'm looking at going back to OE setup. Any leads on where to find OE pedal switch or repro unit? Ebay? Year one?

Hopefully the mount is still there and possibly the harness. Here is the switch and it is available thru numerous vendors and possibly still GM. Good Luck Rick

Here is some good reading thanks to Schurkey.....
