Looks like my clutch is finished but I wanna run the symptoms by someone else prior to replacing.
Once warmend up the trans will not shift into 1st and 2nd. Usually can get it in 3rd and 4th. Had a hell of a time gettin it home! I smelled a lot of burning coming from the clutch possible slipping and then sticking not allowing me to shift? Once cooled off I could get it through all 4 gears again. Trans has been gone through and it is fine, looks brand new inside. I've had clutches slip but never stick like this and then fry.
Opinions?
I also heard Centerforce is having some quality control issues. Who elso do you reccomend I go with when I replace it?
Thanks!

When aman trans will shift ok cold and then wont shift well at all when hot thats generally a clutch thats not disenguaging enough requiring more disenaguagment of clutch to be adj into the clutch linkage.

But the strange thing in your case is that you say your smelling burning clutch which says that there's something else going on .

Are you sure its not something else like incorrectly adj brakes (esp rear) or a cali[er slightly hung up that are still partially dragging in drums /on rotor causing the burning smell that can easily be mistaken for a slipping clutch?

E-brake partially stuck on /engauged or mis-adj?

With these 40 yr old cars it's very easy to collectively have 2 ormore issues going on at the same time mixing up the collective issues symptoms into what you think is 1 problem which i often see in this game with the classic cars.

People bring cars for me to chk out/repair and i often find 2-3 issues that they thought were all combined into the 1 problem they were having. Then they are shocked to find their what they thpought was 1 issue was really 2-3 completely different issues all collectively going on at the same time with absolutely no connection at all between any of the 2-3 different issues.

Good point. I have power manual brakes. I jacked it up and all the wheels spin free. I smell the burning strongest at the top off the bell housing where it meets the engine. I will go back and readjust the toe play just to be sure.
