Got to the left side lower control arm bushings today. Went a lot easier.

Got the arm off. Marked the front.

Did the drill around the rubber for a while on each bushing. Never did get them to walk out like the video. I must be drinking the wrong beer. Used Bud Lite Lime.

Drilled through the bushings four or five times.

Pressed the center sleeves out and removed with vice grips. Then pressed the rubber out.

Then, I cut the bushing shell in half from the end of the arm with the trusty Sawzall. Cut the shells through on the perimeter, with a hand hacksaw.

Then I took a chisel and mfh, and collapsed the non flanged side in on itself and got them out.

Then set the arm on a bearing puller, and with a big flat washer, pressed the flanged side of the old shell out

Put my split pipe nipple and hose clamp support in, and pressed the new ones in.

Voila! Worked nicely and I did not have to tack weld the bushing shells in place. Still not an elegant process.

WAHOO, four down, only the uppers in the axle to go!

I am getting adj upper arms.
