Run into this last week. One of the "top notch" shops in town called in to get a quote on ball joints for a 94 Dodge 2500, wanted top line only. Told him we had the top line and 2nd line in stock, "I don't won't junk". Next day he called in and asked for the second line. Go figure, lowers went in no problem. Uppers different story. Could push in with hand pressure, sent another set of second line to the "top notch" shop. Guess what? Same thing, went to the shop to see what was going on. Took mic's and a set of DANA ball joints with me, a-frames were not split or strechted. Being a press fit the ball joint should be 5-7 thousanths bigger than the hole in the a-frame. The second line ball joints were egg shaped, where they seat in, this area should be machined. Anywhere from 1-2ths too small to the correct 5-7ths. The DANAs worked fine. But had to listen to the shop owner fuss about cutting into to his profit, guess he priced the top and was trying to install the seconds. This just shows the quality control and workmanship of your 2nd lines is not there. I have heard Rizzi, preach this and know it too be true myself, after a life time in parts. Thomas
