Ready to install complete new cable, front to back. What is the trick in getting the front cable out ?? It's in there real good. It's a '71 Chevelle convertible.
Are there any good sites with photo.s that will help ?? I don't have the complete installed cable as a guide. I have bought all the parts I think I need from Year One and am ready to go.

Not sure about a 71, it may have a hairpin clip holding it in the floor

well on mine, there were three prongs that locked the end of the cable to the floor once it was installed from underneath. Since your replacing it anyways, just break those three prongs off and it will slip right back through the floor.

try using a small hose clamp to compress the tabs then slide it through
