I'm trying to remove my power booster from 65 chevelle ss. all the nuts are off the studs, but the booster will not pull free from fire wall. is the push rod supposed to stay with the car or am i suppose to disconnect pushrod from pedal linkage. i looked at it that way and removed the clip, but the pin doesn't push through. any help would be appreciated. graemlins/clonk.gif

The rod from the pedal to the booster has to stay with the booster. I have never taken apart a 65, but either the pin at the brake pedal will slide out after removing the locking clip or it is welded to the pedal and you have to push the rod over and off the pin. It may just need a little hammer tap to slide out if it is stuck.

Thanks drptop70ss! The clip came off, tapped the pin out from clevis and booster came right out. Thinking about replacing pin with bolt, castellated nut and cotter pin. I don't trust the clip anymore.

clip if not broken can be reused.
