The codes on the protect-o-plate for this LS6 look a little odd.

Yeah, it's interesting how the engine and rear axle are both dated Jan 12th, but the transmission is an October 31st??? Not to say that it's a fake, it just is interesting... :yes:

My protect-o-plate has a CKF code for the rear end with the date after the code (1024B).
And my transmission has a POR27B code for a muncie October 27th M21.
The codes for the options start directly under the C for the rear end code. This one is moved over one character to the right.
Makes you wonder.
I guess this car doesn't have power steering so it wouldn't have a 1 in the first column for the options.

No. Mine was a Van Nuys car.
I didn't know they would be that different. I thought the rear end codes would all have three letters, starting with a C. My mistake.
I checked out other protect-o-plate information on Chevelle stuff and got an education. I should have looked there first.
Thanks for the tip. I learned something new.

Look in the TC free classifieds,you can get your own protecto plate.:sad:
