In my opinion i wouldn't think so. Like you said, it looks like a nice car but just because of color I wouldn't think that really makes it rare.

If my car was that color it would make me feel obligated to smoke the tires at every stop. Its just that bad ass to me.

No need for the build sheet to identify color really, it should be on the cowl tag. Even if it's not it would be marked - - for special order paint and could only be a hand full of choices there right? Not sure where they get 14 from either, there are two in my area and one owner is a member here.

i guess if you reach far enough, you can warrant a low build rate out of almost anything. my lemans is one of 8,641, figure in the 400/400 combo, white vynil roof, bucket seat, console, color combo, etc, etc, it's probally close to that chevelle.

now his car is quite a bit more desirable than mine, but i'm not sure it's 40k more desirable, and even though he touts the paint, is it original paint? did he say it was original engine? trans? rear?

i have to agree, it's a fantastic looking car, i'd love to own something like that, but his ad was kinda poor for a 55k car.

No actually there was a thread on here a few years ago about custom paint colors....IIRC $125 and you could order any color under the rainbow (like construction yellow or plum crazy)....

Also two years ago at Chevellabration there was a '70 Hugger Orange LS3 that was supposedly original color, maybe its not that rare.

There is one thats highly optioned around here and last I seen, it was for sale. Somewhere in the high 20s and it was all matching. Im not so sure about that claim of 14 made either. GM never gave out that kind of break down of how many came in what colors.

Not only were there no figures on the standard color selections, no figures on the ZP3 option which, like stated, could be any color from any mfg that was available at the time except (according to a former worker at GM's F&SO division) Cadillac firemist colors due to the coarseness of the paint and special guns required.

well there's 3 70 HO right here in central Ohio, 2 396 cars and 1 454 car, so if I was to venture a guess I'd say there was way more than 14.

here is my unrestored LS6 with the ZP3 special paint option, monaco orange
i would think it would be a little more rarer then the average color.
