Ive put on a 1981 cuttlass disc brake axle which went well but my 14 inch rims binde against the lower steering control arms of the axel anyone done this before?

yeah the 81 cutlass most likley came with 15 inch wheels need to go to 15 then

My 86 Cutlass has factory 14" rally wheels. I am running a 245/50R14 in all 4 corners with zero clearance problems.

you will need wheels with less backspacing or you can use 1/4" wheel spacers if that is enough to get you some clearance from the steering arm.
