: Original BB valve covers on Crate Motor?

Will the Original or reproduction Chrome BB valve covers fit on the GM 454 425 HP Crate Motor?

The crate motor is stock, no rocker rollers that is no need for "tall" covers.

If the answers is yes, do I need to get covers with insider drippers or without?

Is there any clearance problems with PS, AC, Cowl Induction Aircleaner etc?

Thanks,

Andy, I know you can go the other way, so why not. Use drippers if you're using stock type rocker arms ( not rollers).

They'll work fine and as Gene says use drippers for the stamped rockers.

Andy.I think they can too.I have a Chevy High Performance article that shows how to machine those new cast chevy covers down (on inside gasket edge)so they will fit the 65-90 first gen. big blocks. So as Gene says,it reasons you can go the other way.I would just moniter them for oil leaks really well after a good warmup period....
