Any body got some wiring diagrams of the power windows in my 96 Windstar??
Neither one of the windows has power to the switch.

Also while trying to figure this out---I think I may have toasted the ABS box because now the ABS and the BRAKE lights will not go off on the dash.
(these were fine this morning)

One window motor has died----and some time ago, when the passenger window quit working, I was getting 12vdc to the both of the switches.

Since then (about a month) the driver window went south as well.
Now, I have no voltage to any of the switches (window), the fuses are good, and the relay under the dash marked for the window does not have a live wire in it----key on or off.

The driver side motor is fine----passenger side is dead (have new motor/regulator).

Just cannot figure out why there is no power to the switches.

A schematic would be great for helping me locate the open or burned wires in the harness.

Anyone have one, or know where I can get one pretty quick??

I think I remember this battle.....There's a Ford "black box" in the window system that goes bad and knocks out all sorts of things....Call around it's a PITA......

Damn----what happened to the good ol' days when there was just a hot wire from the fusebox to the switch??

This silly van has a separate fuse for every window, and apparantly 2 relays for just the driver window and now the black box to deal with.

Called a GEM (Generic Electronic Control Module) Windstanks were one of the first to have them in 95 and 96, Windows, Cruise, door chimes etc are all controlled through it.

Anyone know where this thing is hiding in my 96???
Having trouble locating it, but not too anxious to take the van apart looking for it.

I have a diagram now, it is small but almost legible, and I can see my driver side window has several wires that are somehow related to this thing. (looks like they may not even be needed for the windows to work---not sure tho---yet.
